Russian Lip Fillers
Micro-fanning technique (Russian) is one of many of our advanced, signature techniques at AVA. Created using a micro droplet technique to ensure maximum definition, it also provides an element of lift to the lip too whilst maintaining a much flatter side profile.
We always advise a minimum of 1ml for the full effect & no or very little existing filler present as the lips have to be pliable & soft for the best results possible. If previous filler is being (or has been) fully dissolved, then please allow a minimum of 4 weeks before new treatment to allow connection tissue to heal fully, this is critical to avoid any potential product migration as we can’t be held liable for any product migration after dissolving. In the instance where small amounts of filler are present, the results may not be as flat or lifted.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING CONSULTATION?
It’s important to us that you achieve the results you want, and we believe this starts with a great consultation. We’ll discuss the look that you want and talk about the best way to get you there! We’ll confirm the price, we’ll cover the products, techniques and we’ll let you know what to expect during the procedure. If you’d like to go ahead with treatment, we’ll look at your medical history to ensure that you’re safe to do so. The consultation is also a great opportunity for you to ask any questions if you’re unsure about anything at all!
WHAT PRODUCT IS USED?
We use various brands of dermal fillers here at AVA. We’ll confirm which is right for you and the look you want to achieve during consultation but all are hyaluronic acid based, licensed for use in the UAE and EUROPE and approved by insurers.
IS THE TREATMENT PAINFUL?
We use a topical cream on the lips before the treatment and the fillers we use contain an ingredient called Lidocaine which provides effective pain relief during the procedure. Pain thresholds can vary from one client to the next but the majority of people who come here experience nothing more than some discomfort during their treatment.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AFTER THE TREATMENT?
Some swelling is likely due to the insertion of a needle and the product that’s been injected. The blood supply within the face is made of thousands of vessels and capillaries which are very difficult to avoid, even for injectors as experienced as ours! We always take great care during treatment but some patients may bruise. We advise you to plan your appointment at least 2 weeks ahead of any event that you want to look your best for! It can take a couple of weeks for swelling and bruising to subside fully.
WILL I SEE THE FINISHED RESULTS STRAIGHT AWAY?
Yes and no! You’ll see added volume and definition straight after the procedure but swelling can cause treated areas to look uneven or lumpy at first. Recovery time can vary between patients but we say to allow at least two weeks for your body to recover properly after any injectable treatment, then you’ll see the final result!
ARE LIP FILLERS SAFE?
Hyaluronic acid is naturally found within our skin so the chance of a reaction to injected filler is very rare. Our practitioners are highly skilled individuals and not only do they know how to inject safely, they’re trained to be able to both diagnose and treat accordingly in the event of any complication during treatment. It’s very important that client’s follow all of the aftercare that is provided to ensure a fast, trouble free recovery!
HOW LONG DO LIP FILLERS LAST?
We say that fillers in the lips can last around 3 to 6 months but treatment longevity can vary between patients as metabolism, lifestyle and whether you’ve had treatment previously can all have an effect. Fillers tend to take longer to break down if you’ve had the treatment before.
CAN THE TREATMENT BE REVERSED?
Yes, hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved using a product called hylase. This is an enzyme that once injected, works to break down the filler straight away. It can be used in an emergency situation, if someone is unhappy with results or if someone wants to start fresh for a new look that couldn’t be achieved with existing filler being present. patients wanting new filler after having old filler dissolved, should wait two weeks between treatments.
CAN I GO MUCH BIGGER IF I HAVE REALLY THIN LIPS?
Yes you can, our experts have helped thousands of people just like you but it doesn’t happen after one visit to the clinic. Numerous sessions will often be required to increase lip volume safely. Our advice would be to repeat your treatment three or four weeks apart to build up the filler until you’re happy with the size, then it’s just a case of maintaining the look so it’s best to book for a topup whenever you feel that you’re losing volume.
DERMAL FILLER TREATMENTS
We use Hyaloronic Acid based Dermal Fillers for treatments at AVA. We have various brands available and products vary in thickness, each being suited to specific areas on the face. Numbing Cream is applied first and the filler we use contains Lidocaine, this is a pain relief ingredient that keeps patients more comfortable.
